Instructions

1) Prepare the Lemons:

Wash the lemons thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or wax. Roll each lemon on a hard surface while pressing lightly with your palm. This will help to release the juices inside.

2) Juice the Lemons:

Cut each lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or a handheld lemon squeezer. Make sure to strain out any seeds or pulp for a smoother juice.

3) Sweeten the Juice

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup. Allow it to cool.

4) Mix the Lemonade:

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the remaining 3 cups of cold water, and the cooled simple syrup. Stir well to mix everything together.

5) Chill and Serve:

Refrigerate the lemon juice for at least 30 minutes to chill. When ready to serve, fill the glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemon juice over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
